| What brand and viscosity oil are you using ? You have to remember that when oil is cold it has more viscosity and pressure than when it warms up and thins out. The warm pressure is of more concern than cold. Is that a roller cam in there ? If not and it's a flat tappet cam, make sure you have a zinc additive in the oil. |

| I run Pennzoil 25-50 race oil. You don't wanna know what dad's oil pressure is with his adjustable billet bump....it's almost three digits. |

| its a flat tappet cam when we first start its got like 60 pounds of oil pressure or alittle more and than once it gets to 180 degress the oil pressure is like 50 to 55 pounds | |

| the oil that we have in there now i am not totally sure of it was just to get the motor broken in and to move the car around and stuff like that | |

| I hope that break-in oil had tha zinc additive in it. If not, you're going to have wiped lobes on the cam. It's critical to have that in there for the 20 minute break-in running. Your oil pressure sounds fine too. |

| Zinc is critical with any solid cam throughout it's life span. Hydraulics and rollers are okay with regular oils.
Check your instructions with the Harland Sharp rockers, some of them, especially for Mopars, require a restrictor for the oil lines due to the extra oiling holes Harland Sharp puts into the shafts. This will cause a low pressure reading on the gauge because of the extra oil they are getting fed.
I agree with Andamo that the 1050 is too much. The 750 should be perfect for that motor. Two 650's on a tunnel ram are overkill for the stock small block heads, they are more suited for a W2 build...unless you do have W2's?
At 16:1 compression, that motor is going to like head gaskets every 50-75 passes. A good friend of mine had a 15:1 440 with iron heads, and he went through a few pair before the block finally gave. You might also might want to watch that you don't crank to many RPM's with those stock rods. For your next build, consider a quality aluminum or billet rod. Do not buy used! | |

| It's one of those sites that you should read for about half a year before posting. It helps to know who you're dealing with on there at all times. Some guys are easy going there and in life, others are hardasses on there and nobodies in life. Just read and learn the good stuff, and ignore the BS. Whatever you do, don't feed the idiots, they'll just run their mouth all over the place. Most of the guys in the Renegade threads are good folks, some of the other ones maybe not so much. I've met lots of good folks on there, just like on here, but you have to ignore those that stir the pot.
If you have questions on stuff, read the tech forums, there is a mountain of information in there. Be sure to read alot and search deep. The site used to be alot more informative about 3 or 4 years ago. Don't ask repetitive questions, chances are if you can think of it, and you're slower than a six second ride, it's been discussed to some extent.
Take it for what its worth. There's alot of garbage on there, just have to sift through it to find the treasures. |

| I like going on the bullet... There is a lot of good info on there. Just read what it says for each forum, as some may contain nudity. I have met quite a few good folks there, and a lot of a holes... Just read around an be careful whatchyea post. Try using their search engine before posting a thread... I found out all of these things on my own... So just passing a little bit of experianse from one teen to another... | |
