Raffle tickets ? NO

A couple of club members would like to sell raffle tickets within the club on the pretense that we are a nonprofit organization. Well I am not a lawyer but my reading of the laws for PA. on the internet suggest that we do not meet any of the criteria for legitimate use of raffles so my suggestion is to just not do it. I know that a lot of tracks and whoever do them but that does not make it legal for us. We are a new club and we do not need legal issues to worry about LOL I think it is good that members are bringing Ideas to the meetings for the improvement of the club but we must stay within the laws and stay safe this club is for fun and so far has been a blast. As far as I am concerned it is doing just fine bringing together one outstanding group of people sharing a common interest in the sport of drag racing and many other forms of motorsportsl. So keep bringing the Ideas and we will use what we can and get ready,the 2011 season is just around the corner for us, get ready to burn rubber smell race fuel eat track food etc. I can,t wait LOL

I say NO, NO, NO ,No NO. These couple of members are gonna land the rest of us in some trouble we don't want in. Myself I want no part of money in this club!!!! Have they gave a reason for needing the money yet from the raffle ????? My suggestion is if they think they need money for activity's----GET A JOB OR A SECOND JOB an leave the rest of us members alone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You should not have to spend your evenings Skip researching legal matters when this was voted down a month ago, you should be relaxing this evening reading car stuff.
