How did our fellow club members do at the Renegade race yesterday at Thompson ? From the videos I've seen so far, the place was packed.

Dad won OLS again and I went out first round due to major traction issues.

i happened to see your car in the one video and I could see the front end drop and then come back up. Is it the track or your car ?

Combination of both. Real hot track and rear suspension not setup perfect yet. I was footbraking and had three 1.32 60's but the car spun bad when the chassis began to settle. That pass was the last of the night and I was mad so I got clear out of it and the nose dropped. It came back up when I cracked it again, but didn't stay hooked so I just gave up. Gonna try some double adjustable shocks and better springs out back to help on those 90 degree days.

I see that run was in the left lane and that lane isn't the preferred lane especially in the heat. Last year I shot the track with the gun and it was 130* and only a few cars could get down the left lane.

Here's some video for those who missed it. If you did miss it, you missed the best race I've ever been to at Thompson hands down. Place was freakin' packed. Cars pitted out in the field behind spectators. Spectator park was 6 deep behind the ticket booth clean out to the road. Couldn't find a spot in there if you wanted to. I had a blast!

Ya might need to check the front struts an make sure they still have gas in em, they are 90/10 but ya coulda lost the 90 an be running on only the 10 part. With no gas they loose the ability to hold the nose up long enuff for a smooth chassis transition. I ain't hada chance to see your car at all in a race or the video so I'm not sure. Pure speculation at this point.

The nose drop is a combination of me spinning then lifting, then getting back into it. It was eliminations and there was no such thing as rolling back into it, I just dropped the hammer back down and went with it for a few hundred more feet before giving it up. I like my stuff to do straight down the road. I don't like to ride it out and hang on with a puckered up butthole. Just a Sunday cruise....

And I'm learning that beyond low 9's, there's no Sunday cruises.

Is the lost traction at the point of the shift ? I'm not sure what trans. you're using.

No, it's before the shift, just when the weight gets put back on the front tires. I was footbraking my Rossler 400.

Maybe hit the car harder with the 4 link and short shift the motor and if necessary pull some timing out but pulling timing will slow you down then again maybe you can afford to slow down some. Not like some of us lol

Do you think when the front end settles down it's maybe unloading the rear end from too stiff of a rebound setting on the rear shocks ?

Yeah Dan, we had the same trouble with Dad's car. It would unload the rear in the same spot when the chassis started to settle. I'm gonna put some double adjustables on it and better sized springs. That should fix me up pretty good. I have single adjustables now so I tried loosening them a bit, but that's not best case for the starting line. Doubles should allow me to tune for starting line and down track. That's what I'm hoping for anyway. Like I said, I had three 1.32 60's footbraking, so it was hooking decent on the line and not wheelstanding or anything wild. I left the wheelie bars at home.

Maybe you got into some pollution on the track no one knew about, that car was working when I saw it. It,s strange you would lose traction all of a sudden when you did,nt change anything. Maybe give her another chance you know real careful. Not easy but careful.

Track was real hot on Sunday so that wasn't helping, but I gotta get this thing to hook on a dirt road to be happy. I'm gonna throw a set of doubles at it and see if that helps. Maybe just time to upgrade...
